Legacy projects

While our legacy projects are no longer part of what we do, their long-term outcomes continue to benefit the Australian community.

  • Past investment in health research

The Menzies Foundation has played a key role in supporting health and medical research around the country, with an investment of approximately $9.2 million to establish four health institutes.

  • Scholarships

During our first four decades, we provided a variety of scholarship programs to support future Australian leaders to progress their studies and research in universities around the world. Our scholarships supported the best and brightest in fields ranging from law and engineering to medicine and allied health.

  • National History Challenge

Until 2017 we sponsored a category of the National History Challenge to encourage school students to investigate the legacy of Australia’s longest serving Prime Minister, Sir Robert Menzies, and be inspired by his leadership skills.

  • Menzies Square

In 2014 we committed $35,000 to the redevelopment of a community space called Menzies Square, located in the Victorian town of Jeparit, where Sir Robert Menzies was born and raised.
